Sarah Burton

I am a painter based in the Pewsey Vale in Wiltshire and I am also a member of the Mays Farm Studio.

I pursued an interest in sculpture at art college after leaving school and continued to explore this in the form of stone carving, as a hobby alongside a career as a therapist in the NHS.

Over more recent years I have moved from working in three dimensions to two-dimensional art, from sculpture to painting.

I do not want my work to be representational and work towards greater abstraction (mostly of the landscapes in which I walk) with colour and composition. I feel my choice of colour helps to bring the two-dimensional picture alive. I use it to add drama.
