I am an abstract artist working in acrylics, collage and other multimedia. I paint under the alias of DUVALLABSTRACT.
My art is for curious individuals who enjoy novelty, ambiguity, sensations and are independent thinking. My art does NOT always have to have a meaning or a narrative. Rather than me tell the viewer what my painting is about, I would rather encourage involvement and imagination by the viewer.
I love textures, mark making and layering to obtain a complex final appearance. I love subtlety and fragility and strive to incorporate those attributes in my paintings.
I want people to enter my paintings and explore them. I want them to feel intrigue as they try to process what they see.
