ABOUT US
Who we are
We are group of nine artists who regularly meet at Mays Farm Studio, to enjoy each other's company and do what we love doing - painting!
Our aims
We come from a variety of backgrounds and we share our knowledge, whilst supporting each other on our creative journeys. Mays Farm Studio allows us to share ideas and to inspire and encourage each other. We all have individual styles, ranging from abstract to realism and we work in a variety of mediums, including oils, acrylics, pastel and collage. Our work spans different genres: abstracts, landscapes, seascapes, still life and everything inbetween!
Where are we?
The studio is on a working farm, set in the glorious Chiltern Hills, near Ewelme. See our map page.
Our history
We met at the Joe Daisy Studio in Mapledurham, which closed in late 2022 following the sad death of Caroline Hulse. We opened Mays Farm Studio in December 2022 and have worked closely to make it the relaxed and well-equipped studio that it now is. We have created a welcoming space, where we can all enjoy the benefits of working with like-minded artists in a relaxed and fun environment.
Caroline's daughter, Cat Croxford (recently on Sky Landscape Artist of the Year), also uses our studio from time to time to give courses to her students. (https://www.catcroxford.com/)
